No

clock was ok, but all drive-settings were lost

the comp. hangs booting the floppy -something scrools the screen ever and ever
and some part of the floppy was reading again and again- the only chance left
was power off. after power on (no floppy) the comp. could not find the bootdrive

yes, but with ...cdrom/... without it did not work

6/ Is it reproducible? (That's the scientist in me talking!)

I am not Mr.Spok or Indy ;) I can not backup my HDs

If it's reproducible, *problem*, however one last thing, you're sure that
floppy diskette is ok?

yes, after formating, it works with the right syntax

perhaps try another just to be sure - though with
those symptoms perhaps not, then!

PS - have you had chance to try 'rawrite' yet? That's the other way to write
the boot floppy.

why? like someone said: computing is nothing for fools and newbies :)

Good Luck .
Neil.

thanks for your time and helping
