SET is sensational. I use it in DOS when I need to highlight a
rectangular block of text, or to read an "info" file borrowed from Linux
(or a DJGPP port of a Unix pgm).
Unfortunately, however, SET has one mammoth disadvantage in Linux. It
works great if you are at the keyboard of a Linux computer, but if you
telnet in over an ethernet as I often do, it is completely useless.
Another very friendly text editor for Linux is Joe. It borrows heavily
from old-time Wordstar for DOS. And it is equally at home whether run from
the Linux keyboard or from a telnet session.
