I've never installed over an old install myself, except for whichever
version had that APM install - which worked just fine for me, unlike for
most.
1.67 would exit with abnormal termination up after I chose "vga" during
setup.bat. The file "toolbar.tb" wasn't present; it hadn't unpacked. I
copied it from the old directory and tried again. It didn't exit, but
nearly all the graphic files were missing. I deleted the install, copied
the old directory to the new install directory, and then installed 1.67
over that. It worked.
One thing works now that didn't before: cookies are properly installed
at mp3.com. Previously I had to write them into cookies.lst by hand
(this was a recent development due to changes at the site). I did delete
cookies.lst before testing this, so it wasn't just my leftover handiwork
=P
I am getting more xswap errors now. And the Arachne text_index.shtml
doesn't display correctly even after reloading.
