Hi Sam;
There are a number of ways to set the keyboard rates including mode and
Norton commander. However, I have a 16 byte program called Fastkey the
sole purpose of which is to set the repeat rate to maximum and the repeat
delay to minimum.

Quickeys is a buffer stuffer. It increases the number of characters put
into the keyboard buffer in autorepeat mode every time you load it.

http://www.hwcn.org/~ao773/myfiles/download/General/quickeys.com

In autoexec place these lines:
Fastkey
Loadhigh Quickeys.com (comment: about 580 bytes)

If you want it REALLY fast add another Quickeys line.

WARNING !! If you use a slow '386, you can fill the buffer faster than
Arachne can empty it when using the editor. Arachne is the only program
I have ever seen that is so slow processing cursor movements that it can
crash if you feed them in too fast. Don't double quickeys on a '386. <G>
