I was sitting in my C course in one of those "computer degree"
schools, getting extremly bored as the teacher kept talking about
something that I allready knew. In an attempt to find something better
to do, i've decided to exploit abit the internet connection the PC I
was using had (like everyone else in the room.)

I've decided to try and run a quick installation of Arachne, as I never
actually seen it working on a LAN. Just as expected, a problem came
up: The LAN card is unrecognised. Totally.

Obviously, we're talking about a Windows 95/98 network, with the
main server being a "glorious" NT server. No need to mention,
the LAN card is probebly a Windows only device. But never mind that.
I was going to run Arachne under Windows anyway.

And here's the problem: the card is not listed anywhere.
According to Windows, the card is an:
 Intel(R) PRO/100+ Managment Adapter.

Due to pure bordom i've simply downloaded the extended packet
driver APM and started trying ALL of them, one by one, trying out
Arachne with either BOOTP/DPMI or manual TCP/IP settings
whenever any of the drivers came out with what appeared to be
a successful run. Ofcourse, that didnt work. :) Arachne just got timed-out
on all the attempts and couldnt either auto-configure or use the
manual settings I extracted from Windows.

(btw, yes, I did uninstalled each driver after attempting it.)

Which leads me to the conclusion: There is no support for this card
on Arachne. Any ideas on how to solve this one?

Here's a quote of one of the most promising packet driver running
attempts I had ( ethersl 0x60 ):
---------
Uart detected, FIFO will be used 16550
System: [345]86 processor, ISA bus, Two 8259s
Packet driver software interrupt is 0x60 (96)
Interface class 0x1 (1)
Interrupt number 0x4 (4)
I/O port 0x3F8 (1016)
Baud rate 0x12C0 (4800)
Receive buffer size 0xBB8 (3000)
My Ethernet address is 00:02:12:00:56:34
---------
Looks promising.. but it didnt work.
The "plip" driver also looked promising. An intresting note:
NE2000 and others, gave an ethernet address of: FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF.

Not your common address, i'll say! :)
