Yes, I reviewed some posts by Klaus and checked the things he mentioned,
But he was using RH6x I think. Anyway, VESA had already been uncommented,
and my Matrox card is a good VESA card.

This one scares me a bit. I don't use/want to use/ a mouse.

I was surprised to find it is a NEWER version than the one at arachne.cz.
I believe theirs ends in .35 or .38 ? and the Pygmy07 one is .4x or.5x.

I have to agree that seems to be the most logical conclusion at this point.
I have not set any specific path, and as I said in another post, I haven't
found a default .bashrc (don't know if the "." is correct), but I have been
able to easily access all the included applications so I just assumed root
had some special going for it. <G>

Thanks a lot Steve, I'll be up all night messing about with it.
