Kali,
To avoid losing e-mails you've downloaded, you can set up a pop3 log; it
won't get huge, because it is rewritten from scratch with each mail
download. It places all the mail downloaded each time in a single file,
so all you'd have to do is find the part of that file you want, edit out
what you don't want, and save it as \mail\this.cnm ... do this from an
external editor and you shouldn't have to worry about losing the
original file?? If you have to recover lost mail, you could always copy
the POP3.LOG file to something else and then edit the something else.
You can do that using the Options [I'm not sure which one, but it's
there].

P.S. I strong suggest that you [if you have a backup, or can set up so
you don't trash orig Arachne installation] test the new CLR.BAT file
I've mailed to the list, and if it proves out like I say, that you use
it to replace the file currently in SYSTEM\DGI\
I'm surprised the "readmail" sent Arachne looking for new mail, but what
do I know. <G> I have mine set to inbox.dgi which shouldn't
automatically attempt to download new mail. If you're up to trying it,
lemme know & I'll copy my line in mime.cfg to you.
