I remember that bug from long ago, words being broken at the end of a line of
128 characters, and one character missing at the break. I don't remember
precisely but think it must go back to before A1.62. I noticed a few messages
from L.D. Best where lines were broken after column 128 with one character
missing.
Some newsletters from about.com have very long lines, far exceeding 128
characters, sometimes exceeding 1000. I think there once was a truncation on a
line > 1000 but never <= 1000.
