There's one way (which have been proposed on this list) to solve this
problem, using dynamic length in memory and dynamic or static in file. It's
not a more efficient sollution but it would be a sollution that wouldn't
use up any conventional memory at all. The problem is (as always) that
Arachne would be if you don't have any EMS/XMS. Using conventional memmory
for it would give some people problems when they run out of memory (but
only when using much memory which shouldn't be often). Still it's up to
Michael to choose.
