Hi Folks, Michael,
This post CC'd to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
I can confirm that A1.70 rev3 is making a mess of its .ACF files.
1. I installed A1.70 on drive D: over a week ago.
2. I set up a stock standard name1.ACF with my most used profile.
3. It was entirely self-contained on drive D:, EXCEPT for the MAIL path,
which was set to C:\ARACHNE\MAIL - where I have my [stable] installation
of A1.66 and where all my mail folders live.
4. A1.70 has been just great, until today. :(
5. Before going on-line, I re-saved my standard ACF to a different
name2.ACF and set it up to access my other mail server (used once a month
to download a monthly invoice). The ONLY difference was my incoming mail
server, username and password - outgoing stayed the same, same ISP.
I then re-loaded name1.ACF and dialled my primary ISP.
6. I got my normal mail downloaded, then went to dial page/profiles and
loaded name2.ACF. invoked GetNewMail. None there, so re-loaded
name1.ACF. Went to Inbox. Nothing requiring immediate answer, so hung
up. Everything cool so far.
Now I discover a problem. My new mail is listed in Inbox, trashed one OK,
but the other can't be read - error, cannot load xxxxxx.cnm.
Close A1.70, open A1.66 and go to Inbox. Same mail as yesterdays
leftovers, but todays is not there. Re-open A1.70 and there it is, but
the mail is now on D: drive. Check Options and re-set it to C: drive.
Use New Settings - mail can be seen in the Inbox, but can't be opened.
This is the .ACF file (both name1.ACF and name2.ACF show the same talent
for creative writing). You will note that the garbage begins
immediately after the SmoothScroll line - sound familiar, anyone ?
Looks like A1.70 is overwriting its ACF files, but at the wrong places.
