That's not a bug, Ron.

My limited and probably incorrect understanding of the meaning of "HTML
Background Color" is it's the default color behind text/images/whatever
on a HTML page that doesn't specify it's own background color.

The compose screen, and the related reply and resend screens and the editor
all specify their own BGcolor as a too damn bright #C4C4C4. 
If you want TEAL, edit sendmail.ah, and the others as you come across them,
to set BGCOLOR to whatever you want. I'd suggest #808080. <G>
