Did you try to add a capital P before your login name yet?
(labrat logs in as Plabrat, and that works with a Unix shell account)
Maybe this P differs from ISP to ISP, but some similar feature should be
supported. Consult some helpdesk...
In fact there should be some command to open a ppp connection from "bbs
mode" but I don't know what...
