There are problems with SuSE 6.2.I think its best get a comp.magazin
with SuSE 7.0 and update base and kernel (only some clicks with yast1).
(btw. free 7.0 has no SVGA) Then get the the CGI-RPM kicke KDE away -get
WindowMaker from the CD :)- and Arachne will run out of the box with X.
(may be monday you can get 7.1 in a magazin with kernel 2.4 -sounds
great USB, Firewire ....)
