Yes,yes,and no. ;-) 

Yes, I agree that a "new" power is going to into play at the helm of
the internet. I don't have to know what it is, or will be, it's just
inevitable.

Yes, there is a slight chance that the internet can return to serve
it's originators, and without disturbing its "commercial" aspect.

But NO, it DID leave our control. We didn't let it slip. 
It was yanked away when we weren't looking. <G>
