There is a story, possibly apocryphal, that a Microsoft engineer
once remarked, "Well -- if our software didn't bring your computer
to its knees, you wouldn't have a reason to upgrade."

Today, February 15th, is the anniversary of the dedication of the
first computer, the ENIAC, in 1946.
