I regularly read usenet group microsoft.public.basic.dos.

Some very knowlegeable DOS and QuickBasic fanatic people there think that 
DOS 7 is much better than 6.21 or 6.22.

In this machine, a 133 Mhz 586, I only use DOS 7. Never had any 
problem.

DOS 7 corrected some problems with the space dedicated to the enviroment, 
I think.
 
I even modified command.com, so when it loads it shows: 
"DoOrS 2000" instead of "Microsoft(r) Windows 98".
