Dear List:
I am amazed somewhat at what some people are able to do with DOS--
yes, I like it, but I just can't have the time or the technical know-
how to be able to do or download all this stuff. This is the complaint
of Windoze users in general. Linux seems like an answer, but requires
knowledge too. Sam Heywood's Opera browser would be a "moderating"
type of solution for me or others. In general, it doesn't matter what
OS you use, if your computer is too deficient to be able to run those
programs, DOS or not. Win 7.x DOS might be good for some things if my
BIOS /RAM could support them. I have a copy of the old beta version
of Windows 95 and some Windoze 98 stuff in DOS, but don't find them
very useful. Mainly, my prob right now is I lost a drive. I think it
is a hardware problem. I thank you for reading this. L.D. has decided
to start using Netscape with Windows 16-bit. Perhaps she is disconcerted
about the operating problems she had with earlier versions of Arachne,
etc. Also, some users might need features not supported by Arachne yet,
or not easily incorporated in.
Yours,
Thomas/"tomstfor"
