Actually, sugar is the culprit (and really it is the carbon molecules in 
the sugar).  A cup of sugar to a cubic yard of concrete will prevent it from 
setting up  --- forever!

Would be interesting to follow up on this cola tread ;-)

Heard that ready mix concrete truck drivers have always a bottle of
cola at hand in case that they are hopelessly stuck in a traffic jam.
The contents of that bottle will prevent the ready mix to become
concrete ;-)
