Hi there folks,
Another week, another dollar nearer the pension! Here in the UK, now
over 1000 cases sonfirmed of F & M and no real end in sight yet. The
Government is now encouraging us back into the countryside with every
sort of advertising, newspaper, tv, radio and spin doctoring from the
politicians.
Am I being cynical to suggest that somebody in Government has bought a
calculator, and is now working out that the tourist business will lose
more money, and more jobs lost, than farming will? and so to hell with
the farmers? let's get the tourists back!
I've done my bit today and this weekend. We held our first Caravan rally
this year over the weekend. (We should be at number 5 or 6 all cancelled
so far). About thirty people and units out to join us. WE would normally
have over fifty. So people are still holding back from things.
The new "Pajero" 4x4 got a trial towing the caravan to the site, but I
can't really tell you much about how good it is yet, it was only 7 miles
away (about 12km) GRIN! 8>)
The only trouble with being away for the weekend is that I came back to
652 e-mails on the various lists I belong to. Nice to be popular? WE
hope to be away for the Easter weekend, and then on the 21st April we
head off for w week in Spain.
I've now gotten Arachne to download and uplaod e-mail using an auto
script, but now it won't close down after doing so ! Keep trying, maybe
I'll get there one day.
One other word on the big "Pajero" 4x4. You will all know these are BIG
BOYS TOYS! Macho machines with big chunky tyres. Big diesel engine that
grumbles it's way along with a real ego trip macho man's sound. Two big
crunchy gear levers, bull bars, aircon, the lot!
They look like they will go through any wall they can't get over!
So what does Ella (She of the sweet disposition and the lightning
backhand to the mouth) call it?

I think she wants to fit lace curtains and chairbacks next. What say you
LD? should I let her (could I stop her?)
Take care gangue, remember, falling off the ladder of success means you
get down an awful lot quicker than ou managed to climb up!
