---(begin quote from Thomas Tabler)
I don't use a PCI modem in DOS, but I use a ISA one. However,
I use the 'Port 0' option or "non-standard IrQ" in Arachne for it.
As Sam said there are many programs you can get that will detect
your modem, or you can download and install Norton Utilities from
a website and use "sysinfo" to find it out. I have Norton installed
too. Do you know what advantages there would be to using a PCI
modem?
---(end of quote)

I forgot to answer that last question. ISA is going out of style in favor of
PCI. I think PCI is more efficient, more sparing of IRQs, and avoids
Plug & Pray (?) of ISA. I am not really sure of this, so anybody who knows
better is welcome to correct me.
