I knew I had an answer to that question, but it's been so long I had to
install the software and look at it again ...

   1. It refuses to stay at the directory where you access the graphic
file you want to work on/load/whatever; it insists on defaulting back to
its own directory to open a file each time.

  2. It doesn't handle half the stuff out there ... including newer
versions of jpg files.

  3. It insists on changing the video mode of the software to match the
video mode of the graphic... and then doesn't even do it automatically,
meaning you get to play with screens and buttons just to view a b&w gif,
etc etc etc

  4. I didn't find a way to easily crop, nor a way to easily convert
[except through the "save as"] and the choices of conversion are too
minimal.

  5. It looks like windoze, acts like dozerware in some ways, but lacks
the ability to actually RUN integrated with windoze ... which means I
cannot print from it because it doesn't have a driver for my printer [or
most printers that have come out in the last 2-3 years from the looks of
it].

I'm sure there are other reasons why I don't use Neopaint, but you
should get the idea ...
