Hello Arachnids: I know that none of us would ever even think about insulting a 13 year old kid. They really know how to get even with all the smart-ass sophisticated people. This from a very recent newsgroup post in alt.military.retired: ========================== Forwarded message begins ====================== http://grc.com/dos/grcdos.htm A fascinating read on a recent Destributed Denial of Service attack against GRC.COM by a 13 year old kid! Details what lead up to the attack, who did the attack, how the attack was weathered and how it was stopped. You'd think that with all of Steve Gibson's technical expertise that he'd have no problem getting ISPs and the FBI to help him out. Find out why this is *not* the case. Steve also presents a rather ominous future for the Internet as more and more Windows 2000 and Windows XP (coming soon) machines are deployed. That's right, the two most "secure" flavors of Windows out of the box present the most danger if used for DDOS attacks. Go read it (it's a tad long but very interesting) and make sure you get yourself firewalled (but don't use Black Ice Defender!). -Jeff B. <snip> ========================== Forwarded message ends ======================== Sam Heywood -- This mail was written by user of The Arachne Browser - http://arachne.cz/
