Excerpt from Bernie:

As Jake pointed out Netscape invented JavaScript. Internet Explorer (and
Opera as well IIRC) doesn't actually support JavaScript. They do support
something like it which makes things harder for webmasters that actually
care to let these people use their pages. Oh, and I've said it before,
Netscape 4.x and up doesn't actually support JavaScript either...
(snip)

Then which browsers actually support JavaScript, and what do Opera and Netscape
4.x and up support? I think Internet Explorer supports VBScript?

There was recently a VBScript virus in one newsgroup, one Outlook Express user
required professional assistance from a computer shop, was without the computer
for two weeks, and lost most of the data on the hard drive. It was just messy
quoted-printable HTML to me, not having any software that recognizes VBScript.
