  I don't know the name of the package.  Looking on the
CD, I don't see anything obvious.  I just booted off the
CD as if I were going to install.  The "drake-fdisk" (or
whatever it is) said something to the effect that the 
partition info was hosed, and would I like to overwrite
it with data from a back-up partition data-block.  With 
some trepidation, I clicked "sure," and after that, 
regular linux fdisk could see the drive again, and I was 
able to recover most of the hard drive.  IIRC, one of the
partitions wasn't recoverable, but the important ones
(especially /home & /backup) were...
