No. SSL require that a SSL deamon is run (a deamon in UNIX is what a TSR is
in DOS, more or less anyway). What you can do with your shell account is
not interesting.

You are probably thinking of a login/password for a directory. That is not
the same thing at all, and can't be used in the same fashion.
