The first thing that crossed my mind after I panned Qube is how different
Arachne is and how much I like the differences. I'm not waiting for js
capability - I'd like to see what we already have tuned a bit more first.

But Or, you obviously had a very good instant impression of Qube, not
unlike my first impression of Arachne way back when.

To get to the point, I think it might be neat if we put together a panel
of a few with different viewpoints and rate a bunch of the browsers and
versions - including Arachne - on some interesting scale that by chance
helped to promote Arachne. Can I say that ? We all would like to promote
Arachne wouldn't we ?

Whether the panel has 4 or 5 members, and whether 3 of the 4 I would like
to see on it is open to question right now. <G> Also, does anyone care ?

Here's what I propose:
One panel member is a raving DOS nut. (Where could I find one of those ?)
One panel member is a Linux freak. (Hmmm)
One panel member is a W9+ lunatic. (Ahem)
One panel member uses them all without bias. (Impossible)
One panel member has characteristics that should be recommended by the list
and agreed upon by the others.

The object would be to use one Arachne version as a baseline - possibly
A1.5b2 and begin adding and subtracting points for later versions and
comparing browsers like Lynx, Opera, NS, M$ (and Qube) version-wise with
the Arachne baseline. I already have a list of pointworthy items.

We can keep it off the list, but made public in a way that would be
desireable to arachne.cz.

Bernie suggested that us natives are getting restless for a new version,
but there are some interesting things we can do during the long wait that
I expect we are in for. <G>

What do you think ?
