Ressl Engineering - NetMail Client

NetMail 2.12 for DOS is still available for free download. BTW, there
is now even a new version for windozers.

I've used NetMail 2.00 and 2.12 for DOS. NetMail seemed very reliable until it
met a message having one or more lines of 1024 characters, then it would go into
an infinite loop of adding whitespace after the end of the message with
1024-character lines. I had to hit Ctrl-C to stop it before the disk would be
filled with junk. All messages downloaded remained on the server.

Does anybody know if there is an official line-length limit for an Internet
email message? I once saw a news (Usenet) message where one line exceeded 1400
characters. That message was off-topic spam.

UKA_PPP 1.7x2 aka NOS-BOX 2.05 has no trouble with those long lines.

I think Arachne/Insight has trouble on the 128th character of a line for
outgoing email, don't know about incoming (POP3).
