Hi gangue,
That's the laptop back together again, but with a couple of nuts and
bolts holding the screen hinges in place.
It all seems to work ok. It's a COMPAQ 386, has a 60M hard drive and
around 8M of memory, but only a mono screen.
Still, that's not bad for a half hour of work making one out of the
two, is it?
Would like advice on a couple of things. I want to use this machine
for some "on caravan site" HTML work, so I will need a DOS based HTML
editor of some kind, preferably one that's not as pedantic as using
the built in arachne thing. Anyone recommend a good one?
I would also like still to know what is the last version of arachne
without the x-swap problem, sorry SAM, it's just a pain in the b*tt
here, and I've never been able to solve it. I used to be able to dial
up my ISP and click on "SEnd and Receive" all mail (a button I made
myself in an earlier version) and it did just that, cyccling through
all the accounts to do send and receive as per the wee script I had
written, but since about 1.69 I don't seem to have been able to get
this to work at all.
Looking for help
