Hi Gang,

You will remember that I asked you for advise on how to sort out my
Hotlist and my email url's....and I got a more useable system
completed.

Well, I call MY email list by SHIFT + F9 after changing the profile/cfg
but that still leaves a slight problem in that on the front of the
Arachne email screen there is a big fat addressbook icon sitting there
doing nothing useful (as my email urls are not in the hotlist)

In all the Arachne documentation it is made clear repeatedly that there
isn't an addressbook as such.

Now I don't understand HTML in general and even less about Arachne's
internal workings in perticular, so please tell me if I have done
something silly but.....

I went to the email screen I think it's mail.htm, and hit F4 to edit it
I scrolled down until I found the form action associated with
the addressbook icon and replaced it with file//address.htm and saved
it.

Now if I click the addressbook icon on the email screen it calls my
address.htm and I just click on a name.

Saves changing the .acf files or arachne.cfg and makes SHIFT+F9
redundant.

OK a new email address will be added to the hotlist, instead of the
"addressbook" but it did that before.

There must be a catch somewhere because Arachne does not come pre
configured with this obvious function and the doc's say there isn't
an address book facitity,..but that's only because you need to create
one. New users are completely unaware and just use the hotlist and
get in a mess with everything mixed up.

If there is a good reason why I should not do this would you tell me.

I've tested it and it seems to work fine.

Thank you

Laurie
