Aaargh! A Rockwell/Connexant HCF beastie. Sorry, but according to
http://www.idir.net/~gromitkc/winmodem.html
that is a brain-damaged controllerless Winmodem, that does not
have a driver for Linux, so I guess there is no way it will work
in DOS either.

Yup, not promising at all. Take a look on that page above,
though, about 1/3 of the way down there is a list of PCI real
hardware modems. They do exist, and I know that at least one
(my Actiontec) works with Arachne.
