Bart and list,
I am not going to ask them to go beta testing with Arachne. It is
more like hijacking their computers in order to run Arachne. Of
course there is a lot documentation necessary, but I would like to
reduce the technical issues to a minimum. Just prove them,
Arachne on DOS runs on any computer.
I endet up with XMSDSK now. It is freeware and prevents the
conflict with HDD C:. If there is less RAM than the RD size given
in command line, I get the maximum size from XMSDSK's output.
In that case I have to check if C: is readable and move parts of my
installation to it. And I have to reduce the RD even more
because I will need disk cache. Can I install disk cache after RAM
disk?
I realized that Clarence is probably right when he states in
ARAMDSIK.TXT that 4 MB RAM is a minimum. BTW this is a great text. I
must read it again and I am not sure whether I will find a question
that it does not answer.
Thanks and regards
Christof Lange
