One long, 3 short ---> Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) problem.

Table 17.2, AMI Beep Codes:

One long, 3 short ---> Conventional/extended memory failure (non-fatal)

Table 17.3, Phoenix Beep Codes:  A page and a half of beep codes, none of 
which have one long and three short, and are also shown in three groups, 
e.g., 1-3-1, which I assume is long-short-long as it doesn't say.  (1-3-1 is 
RAM refresh verification failure.)
