Google bought DEJAnews (btw, directly surf to http://groups.google.com, and
don't forget to try the "advanced search") and claim to have some 3.5
terabytes of text.
Nevertheless: In the early days http://altavista.digital.com, then arachnes
standard search page, would also give usenet archive search. In fact it
wouldn't surprise me if it's a third hand database by now.
