I have received then both, packed inside the arachne digest. One of them
contained detailed information about the virus. Thanks to you, the number of
the potential victims on this list, surely decreased in size :-)
The same maildrop contained also a message, apparently from Oscar Diaz, in
fact the well known Badtrans virus posting. So, I am a victim of the virus
atack, too. I haven't received the newest digest yet, but I suppose more than
a few listmembers had received such postings in the meantime.
Reamarcably how a hasty decision from Helmut's part (to send the virus to the
list) could lead to such an unpleasant surprise :-( One should think
carefully about it before posting something pottentialy dangerous on a
*discussion list*. Maybe the obvious solution is forbidding binary
attachements on the list from now on (although this rule has never been
officially imposed . most of the listmembers respected it in the past, like it
had been there)
