Hey Sam---tnx for the reply. I am not sure if I what I asked made sense. Anyway, this is not my first visit to the list!!! I have been lurking in the background for about 2 yrs and have even asked a few questions. Have really enjoyed the way you guys help out. Normally use a HP for computing but before I resorted to taking the 486 to the Salvation Army, I decided to see if there really was a problem with the HD. In fact, I had two sitting there, out of the machine. I am glad I got it up and running. As far as the mouseless navigation goes....I think its kinda fun....I have really learned a lot with this small project. And to think I was going to spend $5.00 plus for the adapter! This version of Arachne that I am using is the one I got off my laptop. Use Arachne there too. On the HP desktop, I use 1.66. I have tried 1.70 and like it too. My question about the zip program may not be a problem anymore....downloaded pk250dos and have not had any problems with unzipping since posting my last message. Getting back to the part about this list...what I really like about it is the fact that we can stray a bit from the main focus ie:baslinux or linux topics etc...and no one minds...in fact I have picked up many great tips.
