Hello:

As some of you may be aware, Operamail suffered a problem
several weeks ago. The service stopped working and much
of the user data was lost, including passwords.

They have since fixed the problem, but you will most likely
have to sign up for a new password. I got mine.

Now since they have "fixed" the problem I find that Operamail
will no longer work via the www interface with Arachne.

If you try to login over the www interface by using DOS Arachne
and your newly acquired password, you will see your Arachne
behave in a most unusual way. After you click on the login button
you will see a message at the bottom of the screen saying
"Arachne will fly to [whatever the URL] after 174 seconds" Then
the countdown begins until it reaches zero. Upon reaching zero
the loop repeats ad nauseum. This loop is easy to get out of
without having to give the three finger salute. Is this a new
Arachne bug? Does anyone know if the same problem occurs with
Linux Arachne?

Operamail will still work with DOS-based POP3 client software. I
don't know if it will work with an IMAP client. I haven't tried
that yet.

You all may check out Operamail at http://www.operamail.com.
If you want to sign up for it or if you want to re-instate
an existing account you cannot do so by using DOS Arachne.
