As long as it is a 386 with 8meg RAM (or better), it
should work. With only 8meg RAM, I'd use 8meg of
that precious HD space for swap. Also, if it's the
only HD on that computer, I'd use the first 5meg as
a bootable DOS partition. 60-8-5= 47meg Linux native.
Plenty of room.

You'll find the SAMBA package at /slakware/n5.
This will install it:

I don't have a Windows network, so I've never used
SAMBA. But it should work fine. The package puts a
ton of documentation at /usr/doc, so you should find
everything you need there. Let me know if you have
a problem and I'll have a closer look at it myself.
