Hey Thomas, when it comes to downloading stuff, the only problem
with a modem of any class is the modem's quality and its speed.
(Of course there are other variables that can affect the success
of your downloading experience that have nothing to do with the
modem.) I have successfully downloaded rather large files, 360KB
or so, with an 8088 IBM PC running at 4.7 Mhz while using a 2400
bps modem, even on a machine that does not even have a hard drive.
My downloading experience on this machine is usually just as
successful as with a modern Pentium and a 33.6 kbs modem, only it
is very, very, slow.
