Both of the statements above are unfortunately true IMNSHO. That's why I think Linux will never make it in the mass market at all, and also why I think the only way to beat Windows inertia is to provide something totally different that has none of the trappings of religion, and make the supply vector totally different. It CAN be done.;-) Right now, manufacturers must LOVE M$. There is this symbiotic/parasitic relationship here where each provides the other with the means of continued and expanded existence. :( Linux provides nothing but an alternative to one half of the equation, suitable only for techies and free-thinkers.
