I connect to the net with my modem on com1 using b386 and bobcat version of
lynx. I still have no fine working emailprogram though. But my arachne
browser doesn't dial. It just tells the message Dialing type esc to break
Machine is an old Siemens pcd-4nd notebook intel 486 dx4-75Mhz Modem is 56k
and running on com1. It has 20Mb memory and loads smartdrv, himem and emm386.
There is still somewhat 600Mb free HD space
On another effort I have begun to edit the arachne.cfg file myself and it
initializes the modem -
connects and provide username and password receives an > and get the answer

- So what to do now? arachne tells there is no tcp/ip interface available -
how do I get that one going up?

(On another problem: Why do I so often lose connection to my mouse using
arachne (only when something goes wrong - like no dial-up?)
