working fine, I was going to install Windows 3.10 and the Compaq
floppy drive failed. Do you know if LS-120 could be supported on
a Compaq Sx-25 with two parallel ports? I am currently using port
2 for my printer, so maybe I could set it up for lpt1. Otherwise,
I may have to get an way to put it outside the "box" or find a
replacement Citizen/Compaq 1.4 meg floppy drive. Any suggestions
on this difficulty would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is it an old computer? BIOS would then probably not recognize LS-120 but might
be able to boot 1.44 MB floppies. You might do better to buy a regular floppy
drive, they're cheap these days. I don't think you can even buy LS-120 retail
any more. My computer is not Compaq, old computer is CX486DX-2S at 66 MHz.

On BasicLinux and pppsetup, I never downloaded it, and I never used pppsetup but
suppose I will use some PPP setup program for NetBSD and Linux. Debian 2.2.3
installation on new computer seemed to hit a few bugs, and I have the
impression that the packages are rather helter-skelter. Hopefully Slackware 8.0
will be more orderly.

On the issue of multiple Arachne directories, I've had that before, installer
didn't seem to complain, though now I have only 1.70 rel 3.
