Most X applications will look better at a higher resolution (800x600, 256 colors works very well for me). However, to get higher resolution, you will need to install a different driver (not VGA). Configuring this driver (which varies according to your video card and monitor) can be difficult. Before taking the plunge you need to acquire as much info as possible about your video card and monitor. Cheers, Steven
