This puzzles me. I have win98 installed on my machine because there are some
windows apps that I can't avoid using (not that I hate windows any the less
for that, mind). Consequently, I boot to DOS 7 and I have never had any
reason to regret the 'upgrade' from DOS 6.22. AFAICT the former is in no way
'less powerful' than the latter, and they both run 4DOS just fine. It seems
to me that the DOS 7 external commands are virtualy identical to their
predecessors. All my hundreds of utilitys work with both DOSes. FAT 32 works just
fine with all my DOS apps and LFN's haven't been a problem. The only thing
that I miss from the old DOS 6.22 days is NCACHE2, which was *soooo* much
better than the stinking SMARTDRV that I have to use now.

Right on Bastiaan! I do all my email thru Arachne as well as as much web
work as I possibly can, and I have yet to catch a virus over the web.
PLEASE don't abandon us Michael. Make us all pay if you must, but don't
let Arachne die.
