Spamcop reporting is easy to do with Arachne. Just address an email
to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]", subject "Fwd: reply anyway". Then paste
your spam into the body of the message, by doing F3,
c:\arachne\mail\myspam.cnm. (substitute for "myspam" the actual cnm
number of the spam message) Make sure you don't include a sig or a
tagline, otherwise spamcop will think your sig or your tagline is part
and parcel of the spam. Then send it. Several minutes later you
should receive an email message from Spamcop acknowledging receipt of
your spam and directing you to a URL. The email message will be sent
to you by Arachne! At the URL you will read the rules and click on
"I Agree" if you want to use their free service. Also you should click
on an option asking them to send you a special spam reporting email
address for you to use for submitting your spams to Spamcop. From then
on you just send your spam reports to Spamcop by regular email and you
address your reports to the special reporting address that they have
given to you. When Spamcop is ready to process your spam they will send
you an email message by Arachne and directing you to a URL. At the URL
you will see the results of Spamcop's deductions determining from whose
servers the spam really did originate from. Then you simply click on a
link to have your spam report sent to the appropriate postmasters and
other abuse handling authorities. You will not have to paste your spam
onto a web form; however, there is a web form where you can add some
comments such as your thoughts about what you would like to do to the
spammer if you ever find out who he is. To help you think of such
thoughts I could recommend your reading the collected works of the
Marquis de Sade.
