I dont know anything about lview, but I use Graphics Workshop for DOS
and find it very satisfactory except for RBG infinite colour JPEG files
which I have to use Arachne7.01 to convert to BMP files.
The good thing about GWSDOS is that it will present quite large pictures
and uses memory intelligently. Also it has a range of clever scaling,
toning, format translation and dithering functions. I regularly use it
to reduce 4 meg micro$oft files to 40 K GIF files!
