Dear List:
Oh, I guess it's a nice idea to try to revive DOS as an OS
and I am all for it gangue, but the time required to get it to work
practically with most computers is staggering. This is not to say
there aren't a lot of fine progs out there, but if you can't even
use the Internet practically with anything less than a 50Mhz or
faster computer and 100MB or larger hard drive partition {for a
bigger browser suite}, then you will be eating yourself alive
with the time. Thank God for Arachne Chat and it loads nicely
today. If I can do anything for DOS I will, if it takes 3 hours
or less. I am very lucky to have a nicer computer today and I
was lucky to get it to work. I got an old Sony sound card and am
going to test it using the Dos version of Sounblaster. Hope I get
lucky and it doesn't need Windows some version, but if it does, I
won't be surprised.
Yours,
Thomas/"tomstfor"
