I have just had a strange thing happen. :(
All of a suddenly, Arachne (1.66) has refused to display the "compose
new mail" screen.
Pressing "C" and clicking on the "compose mail" button on the mail
screen gives me an error. So does clicking on any email address in
emails or on web pages.
I can "reply to" and "forward", but not generate a new email from
scratch. I am writing this email by simply "replying to" a previous
email from the Arachne list, and editing out the original sender,
subject and text.
Page ("mailto:";) reads:

Arachne Load Error [one skull]
Arachne was unable to load requested URL. Possible reasons:
error in URL
remote host cannot be accesed
remote object does not exist
local file was not found
DGI component is not defined in MIME.CFG
DGI component was not able to create output file

A fresh installation in another (new, clean) directory has no such
problems, but comparing the two installations by eye, I cannot see
anything missing or obviously scrambled in any way.
MIME.CFG does not seem to have any reference to "mailto:";.
I have copied a working copy of CORE.EXE, then a working copy of
INSIGHT.EXE to no avail.
Before I completely transfer ALL of the customisation, and all the email
directories to a new installation, I wonder if this has happened to
anyone else, or does anyone know what is (not) happening ?
I haven't had any crashes or other obvious malfunctions with hard- or
software for weeks, apart from a couple of XSWAP errors.
