You this is frightening.
First, there is the fact that Yahoo is owned by Microsoft. The Greeks
said
that those whom the gods will destroy, they first make proud. If the new
java script actually added significantly to the functionality, that
would
be one thing. But I bet it means hubris instead. The decisionmakers are
as
any other class of people, they get follow fads too. As the content of
the
webpages declines in favor of glitz and hype, the smarter clients'll see
this happening, and as I have done, quit using Yahoo.

Everyone who knows anything knows that Linux is coming. And part of the
geeky mystique of Linux is the CLI, and if you go retro with a webpage,
you can make more of what people care about happen faster, and not
bother
with doing anything they dont care about. This is what Google started
with.

Most likely, Yahoo will be loosing customers to google.

I have this sense that the usual computer interface is like the
dashboard
of a 59 Oldsmobile; so damn much chrome you cant read the fucking
guages.
It's like since WTC, Enron, and now Worldcom, how hard does the world
havta slap the boardroom boys around before they get it, that the cost
of
management has been going up, while the quality has been going down, and
if they dont get a handle on it, they are gonna be dragged out and shot.
