why do you rem out everything in autoexec.bat ?? why not LH it ?

don't forget that you are not using a real OS, but DOS !!!
in DOS you have to keep your "dos" memory clean.
DOS programs natively can only access 640 KB of RAM !
(do you see now why going from 8 to 32 MB RAM did not help ? :)
A looooooong time ago, I voted for a DJGPP compiled version of arachne, which
could access a flat memory model ... maybe after GPLing arachne, we get it ??
at least I hope so. (no more xswap errors, no more coffee while converting JPGs
or PNGs _OUTSIDE_ of core.exe ....)
A> Memory Type Total Bytes ( Kbytes ) Available for Programs
A> Conventional 655,360 ( 640K ) 511,440 ( 499K )
499K is not enough
A> C:\utilitie\DIAMOND\MSCDEX.EXE /D:DMSCD01 /M:12
lh at the beginning of the line
A> C:\utilitie\DIAMOND\SNDINIT.EXE /b
if this stays resident LH infront of it
A> C:\WINDOWS\SMARTDRV.EXE
LH at the beginning !!!
A> c:\utilitie\MOUSE\mouse
lh at the beginning
A> C:\DOS\SHARE /L:500 /f:5100
if you need share (do you have an M$ LANMAN network ??) lh infront of it
A> NWCACHE 3396 1024 /LEND=ON /DELAY=OFF
???? use EITHER smartdrv OR nwcache !!!
A> C:\ZIPTOOLS\GUEST.EXE
LH at the beginning
A> BREAK=OFF
why ?? but it doesn't matter anyways
A> BUFFERS=40
toooooooooo high ... set it to 10
(as long as you use smartdrv or nwcache you don't need that many buffers)
A> DEVICEHIGH=C:\utilitie\DIAMOND\CDSETUP.SYS /T:I /P:170 /I:15
A> DEVICEHIGH=C:\utilitie\DIAMOND\TOSHIBA.SYS /D:DMSCD01
do you need both ??
