Sure it is so.
The 80386 is the first chip with a memory management unit (MMU) which is vital
for DJGPP, and it has the first real useable implementation of protected mode.
Anyways ... who is willing to run a graphical browser on a 286 ??
if there exist links, lynx etc. as good textbrowsers.
Usually you can get a 486 for a bottle of beer, or a piece of chocolate.
